Muppet Baby

How can you say you grew up as a kid in America without these characters in your life? In my eyes, Jim Henson was a genius. It may had essentially just been a puppet...but these Muppets were my friends. I loved each one so, and could identify with my favs. We live in a world now where new technology has stripped some innocence from childhood. But with exhibits like this, we sure can relive those days when things were all so simple.

I was out doing some shopping for a client at the time of this pic last week. I was also sooooooooo sick. Lol! A young well dressed lady comes up to me and asks for my pic. She then asks me a few questions and says I've been spotted. This young lady happens to run a website called Chicago Streetstyle. Its sorta like the Satorialist but for Chicago style. How dope is that?!

Whew!

I was sooooo close to calling the Pussie Galore blog a wrap. Things are getting sorta busy in life...and I didn't think I would have the time to dedicate to it. But I do have the time...I just need to invest it. So many thoughts and ideas...I can get overwhelmed at times. Please be patient...for I am serving up hotness in my own way. ;)

I'm So Happy!

This song sums up my mood most recently. I dropped a zero(on to the next)...getting used to my new peaceful crib...met a cutie(Belly!)...gained some weight back(my booty is back!)...reconnecting spiritually...dope girl talks(luv ya Ang & Billi B.)...on top of everything else that has been happening! I haven't felt like this in a looooooooong time. Waiting for the glow to reappear now. As Monica sings "...even my skin is changing...". But most importantly, I am getting back into my fashion stuff fully. So yeah...I'm happy.

Make-a-Move consists of 5 individuals. 3 emcees(one being a lady), a r&b singer and a producer. They have been def making moves with their music. Fresh out of Chicago, The Make-a-move gang has a sound thats versatile and polished. They dropped their single, All Black Everything, last week, and its only going up from there. Tight Blue Jeans

I gave up on Levi last year. I mean I loved the first distressed ripped pair I bought in NY five years ago. They fit like no ones business! Made memories in those jeans. I continued to buy jeans from the brand...until recently I noticed when worn alot, the jean gets loose around the butt area. Lawd knows I don't want that! I value my ass! But nevertheless...I continued to buy from Levi. About six months ago I got totally committed to leggings/jeggings, and sold all my Levis. Fast forward to today...now we have Levis 535 Leggings. I die. Seriously. Perfect fit, great stretch, and wash. Same ol' Levis. These jeans lift the booty, and make the legs look hot! I wouldn't consider them a "jegging"...just a stretch jean. I am searching now for every wash!

My girl Miss Graham hit me on twitter with a link to a necklace she thought I might liked. And of course I did! A Chanel inspired piece...made as if it was melting. Ugh! To die for! So I peeped the designer...Rachel Stewart. You all know I love accessories. I have a 3 foot bin to prove it. This chick Rachel is dope! Not only is she an African American jewelry designer...Ms. Stewart makes some awesome unique creations! Check out a few below. I will def be copping ASAP.

Line Up

Again, to my fashion & beauty budgetnistas, you may not have the money to invest in five $14.50-$22.00 a pop, eye pencils. Don't fret...I am to your rescue. Sometimes a cheaper brand does the job...and maybe even better. Your local beauty stores have some really dope eyeliner pencils priced at $1-$5. I have tried and tested many kinds to know that they work pretty darn good. This season I am on my greys, olives, navy's, and golds for lining my bottom lids. Its a great pick me up if you ran out of shadow, or simply just wanna keep it simple. Try different colors to see what works best for you! They're only under $5, so why not?!

Fall Nails

Speaking of MAC, they have released their Fall '10 nail polish collection, and I have fell in love with one particular color...Earthly Harmony. Not only is it right on trend with the dark, monotone nail colors this season...its fucking sexy! They were actually sold out at the MAC I usually go to, and I was mad disappointed. This shade would look dope against those cashmere sweaters and 70s chic wardrobe for the Fall. Get yours before they run out!

Give Back

For all you budgetnistas out there...I am taking the time to remind you about MAC Giving Back program. You turn in 6 empty MAC make-up containers(compact, lipglass, lipstick, etc.), and receive a free tube of lipstick of your choice! Dope right? After moving, I had tons of MAC containers leftover from years of usage, and decided to turn in 6 of them for my lipstick. Its all for the environment. So you get to look cute...and do some good!

Its been a minute since I last blogged...but I am back, for the readers that missed me. I have moved on...well to another apartment. Bigger space...more room to roam and do me. So I have been occupied with that mess. Be patient as for I am whipping up new posts as I type. Stay tuned...

Champagne Taste...

I went from vodka to wine to tequila...still on tequila, btw, Cuervo is the best...and on to champagne. I have even turned some of my girlfriends into only champagne sippers. I have always had two cocktails I like that will turn any glass of house champagne aka cheap champagne into a delicious treat, that will get you fucked up! Forget Rose...we have grand marnier(an orange tasting cognac), and chambord(raspberry liquor). You can have an upscale night mimosa or raspberry blowpop tasting champagne cocktail. Next time you are at the bar...don't be afraid to try ladies! Yum!

Last week I posted a list of nightclub no-nos on Twitter. They were well received, and a follower of mine suggested I post them on my blog. So here we go...

-First off, if you are not a club person...DON'T GO! You will only be a Debbie Downer, and bring the mood down with your dumb club jokes or attitude.


-Don't wait for the party...make the party. My girls and I always hit the floor first. I wanna be the first on...and the first off. I am the party..and if you truly think you are the shit..why are you waiting for people to validate your fun? Wack.

-Ladies, don't wait for NO man to buy you a drink. Its okay for a man to offer a young lady a drink...but never expect it. Besides, it makes you look more independent.

-Club Owners/Promoters, please stop with the bottle service crap. I know its your bread and butter...but its only PART of your bread and butter. Create a good vibe, and folks will want to buy a bottle. Don't make it seem like we can't party unless we pay $350 for a $35 bottle.

-Its not all about you. Confidence is cool...but please drop the ego at the club. Women, not every dude wants you...and men, not every woman thinks you want her. Ego causes drama...and fun shouldn't involve drama.

-Get to know the dj. This is sooooo important. Know the type of music your dj spins...and what crowd he produces. If you pay attention to this...it may save you a trip to a party you don't wanna be at.

-The elite attitude is not needed. Confidence is fine...but if you were so special, you would have your own club.

-Last but not least...be safe. Life should be treasured...not ruined.

Everyone is equal to me...I see no shape or size...unless you dress it wrong, then there is a problem. The only downside to hanging with women is the self-esteem issues, especially with plus size sistas. I can only say so much to make you feel comfortable...but it starts with self. Thanks to more options, there are stores that cater to a multitude of sizes, such as Torrid, Great Glam, Forever 21, and more! Be fearless and bold! You can wear and do what you want! Every fashionista is excited to rock boots for the fall. We can't wait to get our well manicured hands on a pair of hot, black or brown boots to rock with those skinnies or leggings.
